Start with Your Family

7/6/2009

What values did you learn in your home? Did you learn honesty? What about taking care of each other?  Did your mom and dad teach you to have good table manners? To complete a task? To Work hard? Whether it was done intentionally or not, all of us learn from our own parents certain values. Some parents are excellent teachers of values. Some just hope that their kids will pick up on them. Children though are like sponges and they will absorb anything that is going on in their home. And if you behave in respectful ways with your spouse, your children, your friends, your children will learn this value from you. That this is the way to treat others. You CAN teach, train and model good healthy values for your children. Even if you didn’t have a childhood where your parents taught you, you can do more. You can do better. Become today, the loving, respectful and involved parent that your child needs and deserves. Create a good life for your child. A better life perhaps than the one that you had. God does give you chance to have a fresh start --with your own family.
